This Week’s Interesting eBay Auctions
March 1st, 2012 | Published in Interesting eBay Auctions
Happy Thursday! Here are the week’s interesting eBay auctions for vintage football cards and related collectibles:
- First, a couple of nice 3-card strips of 1949 Leaf cards: White/Rhodemyre/Hendreen and Washington/Gilmer/McAfee. (The McAfee is a rookie card of a Hall of Famer.) These were salesman’s samples, according to the seller. The cards appeared in the same configuration on the uncut sheet.
- I know nothing about soccer cards, but these caught my eye because of their resemblance to 1957 Topps football cards: 1960 Chix Footballers Album and Cards.
- 1960 Bell Brand Rams cards are scarce, so Bell Brand cards still in the wrapper are extra-doubly scarce. Here’s one, a Lou Michaels.
- I mentioned 1974-1976 Town Talk cards last week. This week I spotted an 11-card uncut strip of 1976 Town Talk cards. The seller also has a 12-card lot of 1974 Town Talk cards for sale.
- Ever wonder where 1961 Fleer Wallet pictures came from? Well, here’s a full album of uncut pictures. (The album was part of a magazine called Complete Sports Pro-Football Illustrated.) You can see the full set of individual pictures in the Vintage Football Card Gallery.
- Here’s a cheap novelty: a 3-card uncut strip of blank-backed 1973 Topps cards. I nearly grabbed this myself.
- Finally, a reader sent me a link to this 1971 Springbok Redskins puzzle, which I hadn’t seen before. I checked that out, then I spent 15 minutes browsing through the rest of the seller’s amazing selection of vintage NFL memorabilia.
